What is the saddest ending to a movie you ever saw?

    McCabe and Mrs. Miller. You can watch the ending on youtube if you want but in order to appreciate it you really have to watch everything that preceded it.

    Leaving Las Vegas is one of the saddest movies I've ever seen and I think it's a really good movie.

    Plains, Trains, and Automobiles .. 

    I have spent many a holiday alone, even when with friends and/or their family didn't fit in 

    because they were so used to being by themselves I would stand out like a sore thumb.

    There is good/happy "saddest" like Casablanca and Field of Dreams. For a painful "saddest", watch "Looking for Mr. Goodbar".
