  • Documentary Film called "Tibet" . It was over six hours long and quite graphic , one scene had a cremation of a body on a bier set aflame focusing on the body juices bubbling out. I almost brought up my popcorn and coke. I did not stay to see the end.

The longest movie I have ever seen is Empire, a 1964 film by Andy Warhol.

    Eight hours and five minutes.

It's an "art" movie. It is eight and a bit hours of slow motion footage, of a fixed camera looking at the Empire State Building in New York. Warhol said that he made this movie to "see time go by"... or maybe he just thought it would be funny to make people watch a stationary object for eight hours. And five minutes.

There was an all-night screening of this movie when I was at Uni. Me and some others went there quite stoned, and I definitely wasn't paying attention for the whole thing. We had a leaflet that explained when all of the interesting bits were happening, like when the building's floodlights would be turned on, and when you could possibly make out somebody's shadow in a window.

Funny thing is, I have seen worse movies.
