bigger than a flock?

what do you call a massive flock of birds? like a whole population of them?

    Different birds have different words to describe large groups. A lot of Geese on the ground are a gaggle. You might see a raft, a band, a host, a chime, or even a kettle.

    Seriously, a bunch of buzzards on a carcass are called, a wake.

    It's just a large flock, there's not a specific word for it. 

    A murmuration is the collective noun used specifically for a flock of starlings in flight. It's not used for other bird species and also does not indicate the flock is especially large.
