As bad as it is, this is not the United State's worst epidemic. 675,000 Americans died in the Spanish flu of 1918-1919.

One of the reasons is our borders allow for it. Also where there is demand there will ALWAYS be supply. It's affecting our next generation, who think they're just HAVING FUN. No one considers that they may become a drug addict if they take that hit, snort or whatever. We all think we can handle it.

There's not much the government can do if an addict CHOOSES to use drugs. Illegal drugs flowing into our country from outside sources have been a problem for hundreds of years. When the Government banned alcohol back in the 1920's, addicts went to marijuana and to heroin. Meth and "Crack" were the drug of choice in the 1970's. Opioids are just the addict's current poison of choice.

Perhaps. That's because democrats support open orders and the drug cartels...major campaign source of funds and future voters. All their other sources of funds, the perverts (Weinstein, Epstein and Buck) seem to be going away. Thank democrat politicians. Don't worry, they're fine.

Are you idiots crazy? Capitalism is an intuitive engine that raises people out of poverty and raises peoples standard of living. The problem we’re having opioids is simple. Certain drugs have been made illegal, and therefore, when obtained illegally, are not of a know quality or condition.

You did understand that when fentanyl is laced into heroin, that is what kills the people. It isn’t the opioid itself.

If people are addicted to anything, there should be a simple way for them to go to a clinic, called an addiction clinic for instance, where they can obtain pure drugs in a controlled environment if they wish to continue with their addiction, or they can get off the drugs with people helping them.

We need to stop drug addiction being considered a criminal act. It’s a health problem. It’s not an economic problem. Grow up you little twerps.

pharmaceutical companies started the opioid epidemic, not bootleggers.

Capitalism has nothing to do with it. It's caused by dumba**es willing to take chances with their health.

You’re saying patients should never trust their doctors under any circumstances?
