My QuickTime video says "Error -43: a file could not be found". Can I fix it?

When I downloaded the pics and QuickTime movies off my camera this evening, some of the video clips wouldn't open, and one crashes halfway through every time. They played fine on the camera, but when I cut and pasted them onto my computer, QuickTime wouldn't open them all. It popped up with "Error -43: a file could not be found", and:

"QuickTimePlayerMain: QuickTimePlayer.exe - Corrupt File. The file or directory _______ backed up on _______ is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility.

Which I believe I have done...

Can my videos be salvaged do you think, or is there no hope?

Yes, I have a very recent version of QuickTime Pro.

The files are .movs, which is the standard format in QuickTime.
