I have the exact same thing, and for the first two days, practically nothing at all. Your teeth with be too sore to chew, and you'll hardly be able to swallow. Try yogurt, soup, or macoroni and cheese. Take some Motrin for the pain, it really helps.
What the dentists say about what you can and can't eat is mostly not true. With braces that go all the way to your back teeth, all that you can't eat is:
- chewy candy things like Starbursts
-Apples and corn on the cob, if eaten carefully, won't pull a bracket off if you're careful, but it's a real pain getting all the bits of apple of corn out of them.
If your braces stop at your first molar, like mine do, I eat just about anything! I've eaten everything on the "forbidden food" list and never broken anything. I know, I'm a little rebel. And what they say about limiting sugary drinks, I drink the same amount of pop as before and am fine.
