  Why doesn't yahoo use a voting system for determining a best answer such as having the best answer selected by the number of upvotes it gets?

  Why did YA get rid of voting for best answer?

  Because many people, including many of the original accounts who were invited by. Yahoo to beta test YA on early 2006 before Yahoo released it to the general public, would wait until the 4 Days were nearly over, vote for their own answer as best answer, then use numerous sock puppet accounts to vote for their own answer as best answer. That was massive point gaming by proxy. That was why Yahoo terminated voting for best answer on March 20. 2014 and announced it on the YA blog. 

  If you paid for your Yahoo email account, you could have up to 50 sock puppet email accounts.

  Do you wish Yahoo would reopen their comment section? ?

  I wish they would.   I enjoyed spending 15 minutes or so a day expressing my thoughts on the various news stories I read.  But a lot of people couldn't handle the comments sections.  They claim that too many comments were "hate filled," or "cyberbullying," when the fact of the matter is that these people are just too damn thin-skinned. 

  And let's be honest about this...Yahoo didn't have a problem with people posting toxic BS on their boards until the Trumptards started doing it.  Yahoo's decision on this was strictly political.

  It's real simple, people.  If you're scanning down the "comments" section and you see a posting from some lunkhead who insists on being abusive, you ignore it and mute that user.

  Of course, we have now reached a point in this country where people define "hate speech" and "cyberbullying" as any sort of speech that they don't agree with.  Somewhere along the line, too many people have gotten the idea that they have the constitution right to never be offended by anything and never being exposed to idea they don't agree with.

  It does have a bright side, though.  Since I cannot post my (very well informed, and often witty) comments, I now search out my news from real news sources and real journalists.

  If it weren't such a pain in the *** to change one's e-mail address with all the people and companies one communicates with, and if it weren't for my fantasy sports leagues, I tell Yahoo to just totally KMA and be done with them.
