  • Advice for moving to a different country from the U.S.?

If you don't plan on working, you're going to have to demonstrate to the powers that be that you've got enough $$$$ to support you while you're there. The last thing they're going to want is a foreigner looking to go on their welfare system...if there even is one. You'll have to get a visa from the foreign consulate in the US. You cannot get the visa while you're in the country you want to move to.

Pro: living in a different country is a wonderful way to get a broader look at the world in general.
Con: a different country usually implies a different culture. You'll have to get used to that.
    .
Remember -- going someplace as a tourist is NOT the same a living there.

Best answer: you can expect any trip to Europe to cost about $300 per day It can easily be more or less depending on Hotel your meals and the places you go and see.
Airfare depends WHEN exactly you go.

This package is not unreasonable. You probably have things like pre arranged buses to take you to different places a tour guide, tickets for entry to things, some meals . Check the details of what is included and what YOU are expected to pay for when there.

IF your family can afford it suggest you go. Watching a video is not the same as being there. Hint why go to a concert you can hear the music on your gadget.

Why go to a football game you can watch it on TV. Why go to the swimming pool or beach you can look at videos?

Many never get a chance to see some other country. Each country has their stuff, Some you are familiar with and others just different.

It is a short visit. A taste you may really like it and work hard to save up and go again in the future.
You might hate it and never leave your state again.

You are not alone. You have your classmates and most likely chaperones guiding you through it.
Part of your days is organized and part of your time is yours to explore as you want. You are not all attached 24 hr a day.

ONLY you can decide the value of walking down some street or going to some special thing.
HEARING the sounds of some thing. SMELLING the street food a garden or whatever, TASTING some treat.
TOUCHING something unfamiliar to you be that the sand of some beach the rumble of the subway train under your feet. SEEING things just different than back home.

Part of the price is paying someone else to organize the many details. Booking Hotels and so on. I doubt you would be sleeping in some hostel or no star place. Getting your food from some shop and making a sandwich for yourself.

The price is not out of line. ONLY YOU and your family can decide if it is worth it.

WARNING you may want to have some money to get some souvenirs of your adventure. Buy a soda, get a pastry from the bakery , try a gelato or some other treat you discover during your day.
The price you list is just part of what you will need to spend.
So what is it worth to you to have a meal with your friend in some far away place watching a sunset or whatever.
The trip is long way from now. Some reason in particular you cannot make friends with some of the others that are going by departure time?

I would go if my family can afford it. WELCOME to the grownup world where you do not get everything for cheap and fast. Many save for years to take some adventure. Some live cheap so they can travel more.

ONLY YOU can decide the value to you of bike ride along your local special place or one down some different path in far away place.
A meal in the place you go every month or some special meal some other place.
Ten years from now will you be saying I wish I had gone. It was an experience and I want to go again or It was horrible and I am never going anywhere ever again.

It is a big world. You will never see it all. You have a chance to explore part of it.

  • Travel Backpack HELP!?

Best answer: The size of the overhead bins varies with the size of the airplane. If it's a short flight, you'll likely to be on a smaller aircraft. The "check" is when you're trying to stuff your bag into the bin. If it doesn't fit, they'll take it and gate check it.
