Why doesnt medicaid cover lasiK already?
They cover glasses and contacts.. Lasik is cheaper in the long run. Its no longer a new procedure.
Its no more "elective" than glasses or contacts are. As far as being necessary vs elective, its exactly the SAME.

Even though my vision is not blurry, doing schoolwork really strains my eyes. What should I do? ?
Favourite answer:You may be like me and suffer from cluster headaches and migraines caused by eyestrain from accommodating the differences in contrast as well as from changes in distance. If you did get glasses it would be best to get seamless varifocals because with those you get the correct focus depending on whether you look through the top for distance, middle for things like TV, and bottom for close work. It means you don't have to keep taking your glasses on and off in class. But before you do that, do what Tarkarri suggests. I remember lecture halls being dry and often dusty places, so blinking more is certain to have a positive effect.

My AC unit just dripped water into my eye. Am I going to be okay?
Okay so,
Our AC unit is leaking. It’s one of those ComfortStar ones that’s up high on the wall. According to my dad, the water is dripping down from condensation, and it’s just water. Well, I was standing beneath it, and a big drop splashed right into my eye. It felt fine, but I rinsed my eyes out with contact lens solution (my contacts were not in, but I just ran out of regular Refresh Tears sysdrops) and then later with a dixie cup of tap water to be safe (I’m a little bit of a hypochondriac when it comes to eye-related anything). This all being said, is the water that comes out of there safe? Are my eyes and vision going to be okay? Am I overthinking this?
Yes I have anxiety.

Should I wear glasses all the time?
I've had glasses for two years but only wear them when driving or on a screen. It a stigmatism. However I have noticed I can't see who people are until I get close unless I'm wearing them, I'm considering wearing them full time but don't want to be dependent on them

I just found out I'm getting glasses for the first time. How bad is -1.50 nearsighted? Should I wear my glasses all the time?
Favourite answer:Yes, you should wear your glasses all the time. A -1.50 is a visual acuity of 20/100. That means something a person with "normal" vision could see clearly from 100 feet away, you can't see clearly until you are only 20 feet away. That means that most of the world is somewhat blurry to you -- including people's faces, road signs, and whiteboards in a classroom.
Many people start noticing that things aren't crips and crystal clear at about 20/30 or -.50. By the time you're eyes are -1.50, you are missing out on details that are not only enjoyable but important for your safety.

Will wearing a weaker prescription for nearsightedness harm my eyes? I’m23 & my eyes decrease by -0.25. Usually they increase or no change.?
Last year : -4.00 , 4.75
Now: 3.75 ,-4.50
My coworker says she never heard of nearsighted going down instread of increasing. My eyes usually already increased but stayed the same for 2 years and now went down . . I really don’t want to damage my eye . I ask a similar question on here yesterday but still uncertain about the weaker prescription .

What should I do if I have trouble seeing?
Favourite answer:If you see clearly at some distances but not at others, it is a problem that should be solvable with glasses. It is not usually a very difficult thing to figure out for your optometrist. He may have not thought any change that he detected was enough to be worth changing your glasses for. He probably tested your eyes in a room where the screen was closer than the things that you are having trouble with. You probably should try again with the same doctor since he won't have to do the same health tests again. There should be a glasses Rx that allows you to see distance.

I have glasses, but I'm too scared to wear them. What should I do?
Favourite answer:Pick a pair that looks good on you. If anyone makes fun of you it will only be in the beginning. Once they get used to you wearing glasses, nobody will even notice. Friends will probably make jokes the first few days because that’s what friends do. Lighten up a little, it’s just glasses. It’s not like you wet your pants on stage or something.

Is this an eye color that albinos would have?
Albino's don't actually have red eyes, but they do lack pigment. It appears that her eyes do too. Is this an eye color that albinos would have? I googled it, and some albinos have even more pigment in their eyes than this girl does.

Hey people with glasses, what do you think about a device that help you find your glasses through your phone? Would you buy that?
Hi, I have an idea about a device that can attached to any glasses. It help people find the glasses/eyewear through your phone. It can help you detect your glasses in both short and long distance. They will make sound in short range, and send you location when it's in a father distance (ie. you forgot your glasses at your friend house).
It basically a Tile but for your glasses. But people who looking at you will not know that you have the device on.
What do you think about this idea, especially people who wear glasses?

Am I never going to be able to work again?! ?
I got into an accident and did some sever damage to my eyes. I can drive during the day but since the accident I can’t drive at night anymore I’m restricted. I’m literally blind at night daytime I’m perfectly fine. I work a 9-5 job. In the winter it’s dark by 5:00. I’m scared I might have to quit my job and go on disability or something. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to cope for the months when it’s dark by 5PM? Thanks.
