Lee knocked out Uechi,a Japanese black belt, in 11 seconds in a 1962 Full-Contact match in Seattle[11]. It was refereed by Jesse Glover[12]. The incident took place in Seattle at a YMCA handball court.[13] Taki Kamura says the battle lasted 10 seconds in contrary to Harts statement.[14]

Ed Hart states "The karate man arrived in his gi (uniform), complete with black belt, while Bruce showed up in his street clothes and simply took off his shoes. The fight lasted exactly 11 seconds--I know because I was the time keeper—and Bruce had hit the guy something like 15 times and kicked him once. I thought he'd killed him."[15]

its a myth and exaggerated..he fought a chinese kungfu practioner name james wong and the fight last about 3 minutes cause bruce have to keep on chasing the guy in the court...the guy admit defeat after been straight punch by bruce number of times..bruce was disappointed with his performance and wing chun art that he's been practising,because it take a lot more time to subdue a normal opponent and the wingchun art wasnt really handy in the fight...from then he started to analyze his art and other martial art too...before he came out with Jeet Kune Do,the art of the intercepting fist...but refuse to confine it to kata form and make it formless...so his art is subject to changes if there is anything new..he prefer sparring as the main practice of his art...he said that wingchun sticky hand technique is useless against someone bigger and stronger...he even said that 99% of the martial art is baloney..
