Stephen Jones is a bit of an ignorant fool in all fairness. But do you know who is even worse and also a terrible match commentator? Stuart Barnes, (Ugghh).

    Hi,
    Check this out....

"Stephen Jones has been rugby correspondent of The Sunday Times for more than 20 years and is regarded as one of the sport’s most influential commentators. Twice named Sports Correspondent of the Year by the Sports Journalists' Association, he won William Hill’s Sports Book of the Year for Endless Winter."

Not Stephen Jones the rugby player...

Sports fans can be one-eyed and unreasonable, which is necessary for the excitement and conflict, but it's sad to see a so-called journalist like him so badly affected by class and colonial attitudes as well as by Welsh jealousy. He is also sinister in playing the race-card, trying to appear to support Pacific island people and rugby, but he hates them intensely in a black jersey. Shame on the Sunday Times for running his column; it is not even entertainment. It is not good for rugby, and he is not a true rugby fan, but just a bigot with issues he wants to push on others.

I find him amusing because he always comes up with something negative to say about the all blacks, before and after a game.
Some times he makes sense, I think his recent comments wernt that controversial.
I have found in the past he has a jealacy of the southern hemisphre teams, but thats because hes a pasionate supporter.

Hes a loud mouth Pom/or Welsh who has an inflated ego and opinionated.
He dosnt even think dan carter is the best in the world.
Just because hes smart and knows his rugby doesnt mean you should listen to him
My fatherinlaw is a wealthy property invester and got the whole family into commercial property just before the recession, we lost $10000s.

He has been very, very wrong in the past, but his collumns are good entertainment.
I wil keep reading his articles.

You don't need any qualifications to be a rugby columnist, haven't you read the ones in New Zealand. If you played rugby at school, then that is enough.

He has a great qualification--he writes what his readers want to hear, even if he has to make it up
