What's so great about Auckland?

Auckland was rated as the 4th Best City according to Mercer Quality of Life Survey this year.
Apart from its amazing skyline at night, what makes Auckland so great?

I was sitting in Auckland, near Parnell, when a goat wearing a collar walked by across the street. It stopped to look at some people, and the went on its way. Don't know where it came from, don't know where it went.

That goat was the highlight of my time in Auckland.

There's something great about Auckland?
You need to look at how that survey was carried out, what the criteria is, etc. I hate living here. Nobody smiles, so Quality of Life doesn't equal happiness.

lol i live in auckland and i love it. but as for no one smiling, there is a bit of truth in that, though not entirely. if you go north or south of auckland people are a lot friendlier. and each city has its good and bad points.....

the best way to know what is so great about auckland is to check it out for yourself :-)

It's crowded, lots to do, it's a great city to live in! It's big, it has everything! the sceneries, the food, the people, the sports, the stuff, the sex!

low crime, beach weather for 8 months, no winter, lots of outdoor beauty close by, intelligent population

absolutely nothing in my opinion...ive lived there and unless you like the city life then its not great. Its packed up with so much people...so busy no room for anything or anyone

Everything. The traffic isn't that bad.
