How good is the ps3 in terms of graphics?

Question

Ok so i either have the choice of getting a gaming pc or a ps3 for christmas. I mainly want to play games. I know the ps3 has some very impressive features but in terms of graphics how good is the ps3? I have been hearing about games like kz2 and mgs4 but is there a game on the ps3 that looks better or near crysis? I really want a ps3 but i dont want to waste my money on something that cant bring out those awesome graphics? So far i havent been impressed my the graphics of the ps3? I have only been impressed by th graphics of crysis? Is there a single game on ps3 that looks near as good as crysis or better?

looks like you have made up your mind already. if graphics is your sole criteria then go with the PC. at least you can tweak the settings on a PC to get the performance you want.

you would need to get a really good pc to even begin to compare to what the ps3 can do (graphics wise) but if your going to game on a computer then get a mac, run bootcamp, download windows and there you have yourself a f.ucking awesome gaming computer!

Better than the other consoles, but naturally it can't compare to a high-end PC. On the plus side, there are the ps3 exclusives worth considering, and the fact that the ps3 would set you back only 300 bucks.

Killzone 2 actually has a higher polygon count than Uncharted 2. Killzone 2 matches Crysis (on standard settings).

Uncharted 2 just makes your mouth water. The art style and colors and detail and textures just want to make you eat the screen.

Put it thi way, the American military are using the same graphics chip which is in the ps3 to train their soldiers, pilot ect.....

Far better than any computer or other console.

Uncharted 2 is just slightly behind Crysis. Its the best the PS3 has to offer currently even than Killzone 2.
