By wetting the Wallpaper with a sponge, it may come off. However if the
Walls were not properly prepped before the Wallpaper was put on, you may have a little problem. In such a case, go to a Hardware Store, Home Depot or Lowe's and get either a Powder or liquid which it mixed with Water (it is actually an Enzyme), use the solution after you scored the
Wallpaper with a knife (do NOT go too deep) and then wet the Paper.
Let sit about 15 minutes and try. If it does not come off yet, repeat the wetting process. Eventually all will be well.
The Enzymes will solve the Wallpaper Glue.

firstly, if it,s just a standard w/paper, just brush on warm water with a bit of washing up liquid in it and let it soak in, do this a couple of times until the paper is soaked and then it should strip of with a scraper . If it is a vinyl coated paper which water is hard to penetrate, you should be able to hire a wallpaper steamer from your local paint shop . these do make the job of stripping much easier good luck

I read the above answers and was very amused. Yes, you'll need warm water and no you don't need to rent a steamer.
Mix 1 cup of cheap white vinegar to a gallon of water. Soak it good and then remove the wall paper with a broad knife (wide putty knife).
It's cheap, easy to do, and you can get the kids involved because it is safe.

Wallpaper remover . you can buy it any home improvement or hardware store. follow the instructions and it works wonderfully. just make sure you lay down towels drop cloths and wear old clothes. the trick is to use hot/warm water and keep it wet. once it has soaked it will peel off but it does help to use a putty knife. wipe walls after to make sure all adhesive is gone.
