Who else thought that the Phillies were going to win the world series?

The Phillies did their best. Chase Utley and Cliff Lee in particular. But they were just overmatched. I'm a Red Sox fan and I trully hoped the Phillies could pull out an upset but in the end the Yankees was just too much.

About 70% of America thought or hoped the Phillies would win the World Series. Actually, only states support the Yankees are only the stats around New York area.

Well, I always thought Yankees would win but I did not think Cliff Lee and win two games and the Phillies can push the Yankees to 6 games.

Anyway, the Yankees prove all of them wrong or they should not put the hope in the Phillies in the first place.

i did. i think i was watching too much of the NLCS, thats why. i was fearful of ryan howard and victorino. i thought utley would be flat and blah. i was wrong on all the above. i need to tell you i'm a yankee fan i'm just being honest

i thought the phillies would win in 5 or 6. i thought pettitte would show his age (he sort of did, but not really). i thought teixeira would be a dynamo on both offense and defense. only the latter was true. i thought matsui might show his age and i thought damon might play ho-hum. both didn't

After Utley and the crowd crashing homers I thought they would win. I think the yanks got a little lucky but with Rivera and some clutch hitting they got by. I am a yank fan but I have total respect for the phillies.

I thought they could pull it off but its just the phillies pitching was crap and ryan howard struck out 12 times. so if the pitching was good and ryan howard was hot they could have really had a shot.

No Pedro is a shadow of his former self, cole hamels didnt even have a good regular season, when ryan howard doesnt hit homerunes he strikesout, brad lidge is a coin toss
