When was the last time the NZ home international season began before Australia's home international season?

This will be happening this year, because NZ's first test against Pakistan in Dunedin will begin on November 24, whereas Australia's first test against the West Indies in Brisbane begins on November 26.

It is very rare that you see NZ's home season beginning before Australia's one does, since NZ's season doesn't normally begin until December.

So does anyone know the last time when that happened was?

This is the first time that is going to happen.

Except for a few early seasons when New Zealand played a home series, and Australia did not host any series (e.g 1955/56 season), Australia always played their home series before NZ.

Great work Ben!

A very interesting fact this is, I should send Sky an email informing of this so they can mention this on air.
