With such a debilitating loss to PAK what will NZ have to pull out of the hat for the next games?

What improvements should or could they make that could possibly make their chances of winning greater? Are they forever doomed to be known as the 'average team', or will they gain some confidence by eventually stringing some wins together and gaining notoriety throughout the cricket world? THOUGHTS?

Will Billy, and it probably wont sound overly pleasant, but the Kiwis (the Battinng line-up inparticular) will have to get a stonger back bone, compared to the first match, tho the bowlers werent innocent either!

when Latif was dismissed with 9 overs to go, the score was only 1-184, so they will need to bowl well for 50 overs next match, not just 40

but the batting worried me, chasing 287 is not easy, but to fall 140 runs short is just not on at international level! a lot of the wickets sounded soft as well, they need to get back some of that determination that NZ sides of the past have been known for

they do that and the next match will be a lot closer!

    Quite simple,
The New Zealand Cricket Council disbands the complete present Black Cap team & the players are immediately recalled home, the present Captain looses his job.
We then hire a total dedicated professional Coach at whatever cost, one who will take absolutely no back chat from any player & whose word goes, not the players.
We then start from scratch to select a complete new set of players, chaps with some guts & determination, something sadly lacking at present. For me, at present I would list Vettori & Tim Southee, nobody else & definitely not Mc Cullum.

New zealand do win a good proportion of our games or we wouldn't be consistantly ranked at 3rd or 4th in the world in ODI. The problem is when we lose, we tend to lose BIG so people forget the good performances leading up to it, i.e. you forget that New Zealand beat Srilanka, England and Pakistan in the Champions trophy jsut a couple of weeks ago since we got thrashed in one game. People forget our good form in Australia at the end of last season since we got thrashed in 2 games in Srilanka early this season.

I think its a psychological thing for them some how. They obviously thrive on being the underdog and I think that's why they're somewhat inconsistent. They miss Elliot in the middle because I think he provides the right balance for the top order and he acts as the catalyst for the lower middle order. Pretty much they have to score more runs than Pakistan make.

Nz's fielding and bowling are great...really best...

    Only trouble is batting...
Put McCullum to No.7...so that he wont be out in first 5 overs and we wont be disappointed...drop all those that dont score 30+ in one of three matches...

No experiments must be done with Southee, Mills and Bondy...they are best...

Put Dan at no.4...before its too late...
Someone please tell Roscoo to score half of what he is doing in IPL...even that will do !

Replace slow slow Redmond with some new talent...he does score but not like some opener...

The first improvement they could make is to stop playing cricket, that would be a big improvement on there mediocre and boring style. Forever bridesmaids they will be. When Australia invades New Zealand and take over they could try out for our team but probably wouldn't get far past drinks carriers...LOL
    They are beached as bro.

From the team that played in the first match, they should drop Nathan McCullum, Scott Styris and Jacob Oram.

They should take into the team Kyle Mills, JEC Franklin and Neil Broom.
