Rugby League Section Melbourne Cup "Sweepstake"?

Question

As you guys are probably aware, the Melbourne Cup will be held on Tuesday.

Pick the horse you think will win, and if your horse comes in the victorious position you will get the BA. Make sure you pick a horse no one else has gone for.

Although I will go for Master O'Reilley, since I can't give myself BA anyone else is entitled to go for that horse too.

If no-one picks the horse that comes in 1st, then BA will go to the person who picks the 2nd placed horse. Or if no-one picks either of the top 2, BA will go to the person who picks the 3rd placed horse etc etc.

Competition closes 4.30 pm NZ time Tuesday (= 2.30 pm AEDST)

Additional Details

Can you give the number of the horse too please guys?

That's 4 for Riley Joe and 24 for Knights

and 18 for Sir Paddles ...

and 2 for Bill. I'll think of something for last ...

I'll go for No 6 Roman Emperor because:
1. Ran 2 nd in the Caulfield Cup
2. Trained by Bart Cummings
3. I have a perception ( right or wrong) that if Bart has two or more runners in a big race, then ussually it's not his most highly rated horse that eventually wins.

This is where I get my unfair advantage from years of working at the races. My first year I won over $1,800 on a $6 4 horse boxed trifecta.

Not giving away my tips but I would like to see Viewed win, been around a while and being one of Bart Cummings horses, why shouldn't he win. Master O'Reilly's been around a while too.

Put me down for 1 - Viewed. Heck I may not be tipping it but give me a Quinella on 1 - Viewed and 4 - Master O'Reilly.

Have I missed something or does Waterhouse have no horses in the Melb Cup this year?

Martin is right, favourites hardly ever win. Quite often they don't even finish top 3.
