I think there's a very good chance that Sharapova and Jankovic could meet in the final. After beating Kleybanova in three sets Maria next plays Benesova, who I do not foresee presenting Maria with too many problems. If she comes through that she would play the winner of the Rybarikova and Radwanska match, whom I think will be Radwanska. Maria has proven after that first time getting beat by Radwanska in 2007 US Open, that she owns Radwanska, winning their last two meetings rather handily. So I think Maria has a great chance to make it through to the finals.
On the other side of the draw, Jankovic progressed when Vesnina had to retire. However, in the quarterfinals Jankovic must get through Bartoli who beat her in the Australian Open and in the Carson tournament, so she'll have a lot of confidence going up against Jankovic. If however, Jankovic pulls through that match her opponent will either be the seasoned veteran Li Na or the big gunner Victoria Azarenka. Either of these will be a challenge for Jankovic, with Azarenka proving to be the bigger threat. So Jankovic definitely has a harder road than Sharapova but I think she can do it.
In the final I think as a result of her potentially easier road Maria will overpower Jankovic with fresher legs and her much bigger serve and groundstrokes. I predict a two set win for Maria!
