I hope so because i called those two in the final when the draw came out.

But Jankovic has a tough draw....she got through Lisicki and now faces Vesnina who's been playing the best tennis of her career IMO. And then she will face either Bartoli, who is very confident against Jankovic, and Pavlyuchenkova, a qualifier who defeated Jankovic at Indian Wellls. And if she got through that the Serb may potentially face Azarenka, the eighth seed. So i suspect Sharapova to glide through to the final if she defeats Kleybanova and Jankovic to struggle her way there, meaning Sharapova to be the fresher of the two in the final and win it.

Its shocking how all the seeds have fallen like flies! I'm started to think that the collapse of the players might prove to the WTA that somethings not right (and hasn't been) for a while.

To be honest I think Bartoli has a good chance of winning this. She already has a tournament title under her belt and a good record against Jankovic this year so I'm hoping (cause my fav seeds have left) that Batoli will win and restore the pride.

I think Sharapova has the easiest Chance also and as long as she doesn't have a mental block and crashes and burns lke the other players then she could potentially take it out to.

Depeneding on Sharapova dn Bartoli's attitudes and previous matches, both could win. If Sharapova goes into the final with easy straight set wins then i think it could three sets with her winning the last two in the final. Although if Bartoli is in stiking form it could go her way in two.

    Just my opinion. :)

I'll be happy whoever wins, as long as Safina choked

I think there's a very good chance that Sharapova and Jankovic could meet in the final. After beating Kleybanova in three sets Maria next plays Benesova, who I do not foresee presenting Maria with too many problems. If she comes through that she would play the winner of the Rybarikova and Radwanska match, whom I think will be Radwanska. Maria has proven after that first time getting beat by Radwanska in 2007 US Open, that she owns Radwanska, winning their last two meetings rather handily. So I think Maria has a great chance to make it through to the finals.

On the other side of the draw, Jankovic progressed when Vesnina had to retire. However, in the quarterfinals Jankovic must get through Bartoli who beat her in the Australian Open and in the Carson tournament, so she'll have a lot of confidence going up against Jankovic. If however, Jankovic pulls through that match her opponent will either be the seasoned veteran Li Na or the big gunner Victoria Azarenka. Either of these will be a challenge for Jankovic, with Azarenka proving to be the bigger threat. So Jankovic definitely has a harder road than Sharapova but I think she can do it.

In the final I think as a result of her potentially easier road Maria will overpower Jankovic with fresher legs and her much bigger serve and groundstrokes. I predict a two set win for Maria!

It's amazing what is happening this week! I guess it's just a continuation from the US Open...The fall indoor season is always a little bit of a mish-mash, where a lot of the top players either don't play or are burned out and don't play particularly well. This becomes a great opportunity for up-and-coming players, comeback players or consistent performers to shine.

It would be easy to look for the experienced, yet not-in-greatest-form Maria & Jelena to step up to the plate. Although the seeds continue to fall, I acutally thing both Maria and Jelena will have what it takes to advance through the relatively weak draw, I would put my money more on Maria than Jelena though. I think Sharapova will win this tournament in great style (she defeated Stosur 6-0, 6-1!). Sharapova has had great success in the past indoors during the fall season and I think she is hungry and more fit mentally and physically now.

If not Masha or possibly Jelena I might have to go with Victoria Azarenka, Alexandra Wozniack or outside chance Marion Bartoli.

Both of them tend to show up in some matches and not show up in others. But they're both in really good form right now (I saw both of them play against their opponents today) and who knows? It's possible if they'll keep their level of play like they did today, then we'll definitely get a Maria - Jelena final.

As it happens, they WILL play each other in the final. I really hope Maria wins but Jelena's awesome too. Although Maria leads her in the head-to-head record.

You would think that, but God knows when these girls feel pressure, they collapse. So Aleksandra Wozniak FTW!
