Question about WTA, Veterans and comeback players win again while well established players facing slump, why?

player like kimiko date, kim clijsters are winning again after comeback and the current and former no1s are performing disastrously losing to no names...does that mean the current generation is inconsistent and has no strength than it used to have before 2007, WTa losing its popularity and in decline stage?

Yup, that's the WTA! While it's nice to hear stories about Kimiko and Kim, it's a little dis-heartening for the sport, because a bunch of old ladies are winning. What does that say about they future of the sport? But I still have confidence in the likes of Wozniacki, Azarenka, Oudin, Cirstea, Lisicki, and de Brito, the group of youngsters, that will hopefully make up the top 10 in 5-6 years are so (Victoria and Caroline are already there). But since we have so many headcases in the top 10 (Safina, Venus, Kuznetsova all lost today), it does make Slams a little more exciting, which can add to fan base, because, after all, it's ANYONES game. I think when Kimiko Date Krumm wins the Australian Open, it will definately get more attention, than say, if , Zvonareva won. But these girls have to get some mental stability, because as Kuznetsova says, they all need the tape support on there heads right now.

the reality for the wta was after justine henin left.. the number ranking got droped and tosed around sooo quick from one player to the other..
an even when kim clijsters left.... we had alot of players get something called holding postions for champions.... they were just holding former positions untill the return of champions..

it boils down to the willam sisters being the best on tour... as the perform well at the slams.. but do not play alot.. and the belgians now will also monoplize the slams..... so saying this.. many players such as jankovic, ivanovic, sharpova even.. are going to have tougher times going deep into slams.... and even the willam sisters.. they will not be relying on the grand slam performances with kim back in the picture.. and now justine henin on the comeback for 2010..... it is going to get hot!
