Intraspecific competition is competition within the same species (example: mating - males compete for the female).
Interspecific competition is competition amongst different types of species for food, shelter, etc. Hope this helps.

intra = within, and inter = between

Intraspecific competition:
I beat you up, then live in what used to be your home, eat the contents of your refrigerator, and marry your ex-wife.

Interspecific competition:
A bear chases me off, then lives in what was my cave, eats all the food I was planning to eat myself, and chases my wife away too.
