Is 30 milligrams of adderall xr really two doses of adderall at 15 milligrams?

I'm prescribed 30 milligrams of adderall xr. I was wondering if I'm really taking two doses of 15 milligrams as opposed to 30.

The total dose is the same, but the way it is released is different. The xr is a slow release formula.

hey...i just recently got perscribed to adderall xr.....30 milligrams of adderall xr(extended release ;])....normally lasts about 10-12 hours....where as adderall only lasts 5-6 hours....so its basically just letting you take one pill in the morning so you dont have to take another one at lunch....but its the same amount over time...=]

i take 20 mg xr in the morning and then 10 regular when i get home from school to help me study

NO!!! you take 2 15's and it will hit you all at once.
